The Advisory Unit: Computers in Education

Supporting ICT in education

The education charity The Advisory Unit: Computers in Education (Charity No. 1022741, company limited by guarantee) ran from 1991 to 2010. During that time the charity raised thousands of pounds of sponsorship for Special Educational Needs projects. Sponsors have included:

1. Save and Prosper.
2. Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
3. Becta.
4. Department of Culture, Media and Sport NOF ICT training for Special Needs teachers (via Inclusive Technology).

The charity was administered by the Council of Trustees. Past chairs have included Sir Norman Lindop and Emerita Professor Margaret Cox.

The Whiteboard Room for free Special Needs interactive whiteboard resources is a sponsored project begun by The Advisory Unit. The website is www.whiteboardroom.org.uk
